Jimmy Page’s ‘active discussions’ may be about Led Zeppelin’s 50th anniversary

(YouTube/The1stGunner)

The “active discussions” that Jimmy Page is currently involved in may be about activity surrounding Led Zeppelin’s fiftieth anniversary, Led Zeppelin podcast Ramble On Radio said in its latest episode.

Last week we reported that Page has been in “active discussions” to perform as part of the Desert Trip festival in 2018. However, Ramble On Radio host Brian Gardiner said in his podcast that the “Oldchella” rumour is a euphemism, and instead the rumour is about possible future Led Zeppelin activity planned for 2018.

The original rumour from last week came from a respected Led Zeppelin fan who does seem to have inside knowledge of the band’s activity.

What’s not clear right now is what the rumoured discussions are about. They could be about a one-off show, a series of shows, or even the release of new material. The only thing we know for sure is that it’s still early days.

  6. All that seems to need to happen is for Robert to get involved. Maybe it will take a 50th anniversary for him to act on this.

  7. There is always room for more steps to be built on the Stairway To Heaven by Jimmy and the boys so my spine certainly shimmys with excitement anytime I hear news about the mighty ZEPPELIN…

  8. We All have heard the Rumors over the years but I have this may come to Reality. I was Lucky enough to see them one in 1977 at MSG. I WOULD LOVE TO THEM ONCE MORE AT THE VERY LEAST. LET’S HOPE !!

  9. I would love to see LED Zeppelin! I am a new fan and would love to see them up close and personal…….fan in Lillian Alabama…the whole gulf coast would be there.

  11. I can understand the excitement and emotions that a 50th anniversary would bring, but let’s face it, some things are better left alone. I think they did a spot on job with the December 2007 O2 show and I personally believe, as a group, that should remain their Swan Song. As far as Jimmy getting out from behind a mixing desk and finally in front of a live crowd – well overdue. I still believe he has many ideas and arrangements to to share with all of us and with some urgency since reality is is that the clock is ticking. Lastly, put out some live 1971 Japanese shows and complete Earls Court audio and video as well as a 1977 performance which still needs to see some official light.

  12. Ledzeppelinconcert.com has an original idea for a live simulcast concert that Led Zep could perform for millions around the world. My hope is that they just consider the idea because it would mean we could all see them live rather than just a few lucky ones.

  13. Thier only getting older now or never because father time isn’t on Thier side

  14. To be able to see “The Band” of all Bands is a bucket list item beyond compare. Albeit an absolute fantasy or the most glorious of dreams, for this to become a reality would be the Phoenix rising from the ashes.

  20. You should know by now do not count on it.

  21. Jason Bonham said ages ago that led Zeppelin could reunion again .but I’d prefer Jimmy and co did an acoustic set list and yes new material would be awesome but I’d love to see a back up vocalist to help plant out as he could never do any Justice to the old classic Zeppelin songs.
