A new box set has been released by Rock Music Memorabilia to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Bath Festivals, a series of festivals in the UK run by music promoter Freddy Bannister.

Led Zeppelin made their first UK festival appearance in 1969 at the Bath Festival of Blues on June 28, 1969. Led Zeppelin were originally due to be paid £200 for the performance, but their manager Peter Grant increased their fee to £250 a few days before the event.

The band performed again at the Bath Festival the following year, again on June 28. That 1970 performance was filmed and 20-30 minutes of the footage survives.

Now, two box sets have been released to mark the upcoming fiftieth anniversary of the festivals.

The first box set has been produced in a set of 250 and covers the Bath Festivals of 1969 and 1970, which both featured performances by Led Zeppelin, as well as later Knebworth festivals.

The box set also includes a reproduction poster for Led Zeppelin’s December 16, 1968 performance at the Bath Pavilion. The band were a late addition to the event, replacing Jeff Beck.
