A rare song recorded by Jimmy Page and Keith Richards is being officially released

(YouTube/CBS This Morning)

The Rolling Stones will release a rare song recorded by Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as part of the deluxe edition of their 1973 album Goats Head Soup.

The deluxe edition of the album will include “Scarlet,” a previously unreleased 1974 collaboration between Page, Jagger and Richards which also features Ric Grech on bass.

Here’s how the band describes the track in the press release announcing the expanded album:

The layered guitar textures of ‘Scarlet’ make for a track that’s as infectious and raunchy as anything the band cut in this hallowed era. As well as Jimmy Page guesting alongside Mick & Keith on the track it also features on bass Rick Grech of Blind Faith fame.

The album will be released on September 4.

  1. ?AWESOME……..CLASSIC ALBUM!!

  2. “I Can’t” went viral. It’s heavy and copyrighted. I thought you might want to record it.

  3. **3 CDs & DVD**?? These guys are all already richer than God! Why the effort to bankrupt the fans in a financial crisis w/a big package? Here’s the rub–looking @ the track list:yeah, okay, some stuff I’d like 2 have, but I REALLY want the JP# & a few other cuts. Why not 1CD & 1 DVD? Or 2CDs? This new package will be $30+ easy, maybe way more. Do my suggestions for $15. Increase the base, not the bankbook.
