‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is now called ‘Introducing Led Zeppelin’

Led Zeppelin film

“Becoming Led Zeppelin”, the upcoming feature-length documentary about the origins of Led Zeppelin, has been renamed “Introducing Led Zeppelin”.

LedZepNews has spotted multiple signs that the film has been renamed following its 2021 premiere under the title “Becoming Led Zeppelin”.

A bulletin dated August 14 produced by the Motion Picture Association in the US shows that the film, now titled “Introducing Led Zeppelin”, has been given a PG-13 rating due to “some drug references and smoking.”

Furthermore, the film’s page on the movie database IMDb has been retitled from “Becoming Led Zeppelin” to “Introducing Led Zeppelin”.

And we also spotted that on July 17, Sony Pictures registered the web domains introducingledzeppelin.com and introducingledzeppelinfilm.com.

It was announced in May that the film had been sold to the distributor Sony Pictures Classics for a US release. And in June further distribution deals were announced for other markets. No UK distributor has been announced so far.

No release date for the film has been announced either. John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham claimed in an interview with Eddie Trunk earlier this month that it would be released in September.

LedZepNews has contacted one of the film’s producers and two spokespeople for Sony Pictures Classics to ask whether Bonham’s claim of a September release is accurate.

  1. Really can’t wait to buy it!

  2. Becoming was a better title, still more interested in the 3 to Physical period and the Egyptian period of Page and Plant, though. Also would prefer a Page instrumental album over anything else.
Have they released anything other than skateboards or picture books to celebrate 50th anniversary several years ago?

  3. I hope there’s going to be some 1977 stuff in there. The set list on the 77 tour is brilliant, having said that, all the tours are unique to pushing out the particular album of that year. I need it all
