LedZepNews has today published 142 previously unseen colour photographs showing Led Zeppelin performing at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan on October 2, 1972 and October 3, 1972.

The photos, all of which can be seen below in the embedded Flickr albums, are scans of slides purchased from a Japanese auction website by Led Zeppelin collector Charley Cioffero.

Cioffero has allowed LedZepNews to publish all of the photographs online for fans to enjoy, which we’ve been able to do thanks to the assistance of LedZepFilm.

  1. Greatest band of all time!!!!Saw them at the Capital center in 1978 just outside of Washington DC.

  4. Started seeing Led Zeppelin in 1972 in Chicago and have seen them at least six times and now I am 67. My favorite group. Always had great seats. Still love the music.

  5. They were the best rock band ever because Jimmy Page was best rock guitarist ever. Yes he could sometimes be sloppy with the solos when he was too drunk,,,but he created the greatest hard rock riffs ever. He was the absolute king of power riffing. No one came close,,,maybe Kieth Richards.
