Robert Plant’s new band Saving Grace has added a new band member, cello player Barney Morse-Brown, LedZepNews has learned.
However, it’s possible his time with the band is only temporary after fully fledged band member Suzi Dian referred to him as a “guest” in an Instagram post.
Morse-Brown made his debut with the band during Saving Grace’s November 5 performance in Harrogate in the UK.
In a report on the November 5 show for the Tight But Loose website, Mick Scullion wrote: “Tonight saw the introduction of a new member of Saving Grace. Profuse apologies as when Suzi introduce him I missed the guys name – it was his first gig & he is a fab addition. He plays Cello but deviates along the way to play the instrument as a stand up (seated) bass.”
According to his website, Morse-Brown has previously played with Birdy and Amy Macdonald.
Saving Grace also changed the setlist during the band’s November 5 show, its first performance in the UK following the recent tour of continental Europe.
The band added a song titled “Higher Rock” into the setlist, according to a copy of it posted on Instagram. Saving Grace also performed the Levon Helm song “Move Along Train”, the Ted Darryl song “She Cried” and added a cover of Plant’s song “The May Queen”.
Is Saving Grace going to come to the USA? I’d love to see the, but can’t afford to fly over to Europe and pay for tickets, hotel and vehicle, all in one shot. I wish I could, but I’d never be able to pay for something like that. I’m 68 years old, and retired of course. If I could ever do it I’d jump at the chance to see Robert Plant and Saving Grace , as I do love his voice, and his personality. I did see the LED Zeppelin ban when I was much much younger, I will never stop listening to LZ, but especially Robert Plant. That first concert changed my life!
