LedZepNews has published 28 photographs of Led Zeppelin performing at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 14, 1977, 13 of which are previously unseen.
The photographs were taken by Led Zeppelin fan Steve Abadie who was then aged just 17. Along with LedZepFilm and two other buyers, LedZepNews purchased Abadie’s slides through eBay earlier this month in order to scan them and release them online.
“I was 17 years old, just about to graduate high school,” Abadie said in an email, “by no means a professional photographer.”
“[I] took the train into NYC and scored a ticket out front of MSG on 7th Avenue,” he said in his eBay listing for the slides. “I brought my camera with me and sat in the 10th row left of center.”
“I believe I shot 400 ASA with no flash,” he added. “I’ll always remember the energy in the air that night!”
15 of Abadie’s Led Zeppelin photographs were published on Led Zeppelin’s official website in 2023, albeit in lower resolution and with a watermark added. The remaining 13 photographs were not published until today.
All of the photographs are now able to view on the LedZepNews Flickr page. You can view all of the concert photographs in the album here. Click the arrows below to move through the images.
The dark-haired woman smiling up at the band from the side of the stage in one photograph is Audrey Hamilton.
The publication of these photographs comes just three days after LedZepNews also published 22 previously unseen images of Led Zeppelin performing in Dallas, Texas on May 18, 1973.
