Jimmy Page is working with Gibson on a new line of replica guitars, starting with his 1971 Gibson EDS-1275 double neck.
The “multi-year partnership” was announced at Gibson’s new London shop on February 22, with Page making an appearance at the shop’s opening alongside Tony Iommi and Brian May.
Page will work with Gibson to produce multiple “signature” replicas of his guitars, presumably expanding to include his “Number One” 1959 Gibson Les Paul and his “Number Two” 1959 Gibson Les Paul following the double neck’s launch.
Gibson has taken 3D scans of Page’s original guitar to produce its new signature models, Guitar World reports.
Employees from the US instrument maker visited Page’s London home to see his original double neck in person. “I remember vividly,” Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian said at the event, according to Guitar World. “As we walked into your house, you had the case on the floor and you handed it to me – and then later you said, ‘No Stairway to Heaven!’”
Page shared photographs of the event in London on his Instagram page, writing: “Today, on this day, Gibson and I announced that we have entered into a long-term collaborative partnership and I was thrilled to be part of the celebrations of the opening of the new #GibsonGarageLondon in Soho alongside rock heavyweights Brian May and Tony Iommi.”
When I first met with Gibson’s CEO Cesar Gueikian and he explained what the future of Gibson looked like, I knew I wanted to be involved. There is a spirit in the place; after seeing the people working at the factories and getting a connection with them, I knew that picking up that Les Paul Custom and the Doubleneck all those years ago was certainly the right decision. I can’t wait to share with you our future plans soon…”
Page’s appearance at the opening of the new Gibson shop is the first time he has been seen in public following his surprise performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in New York on November 3.
During that performance, Page played “Rumble” by Link Wray on his double neck guitar. He also debuted a new line of Super Dragon amps that have since been announced and gone on sale.
Page originally launched a line of Gibson Les Paul replicas with the company in 1995 and worked with the company again in 2004 on another set of signature Gibson Les Paul guitars. In 2006, Gibson announced a signature line of double neck replicas.

looking forward to visiting that shop and casting my eyes on those replica guitars by page

Those who paid big bucks for JP’s signature guitar series “Number 1 & 2, W-neck, Black Beauty” released in the first half of 2000 must be shocked at the news of the “Gibson x J.Page” collaborative partnership. Jimmy has remastered ZEP’s back catalog many times and now he is going to remaster all the guitars… What will Jimmy do with more money? When will the movie “Becoming LED ZEPPELIN” be officially released?
Don’t you have more important things to do? Please tell him someone.
Tony Iommi and Brian May were also present at Jimmy’s ribbon cutting, and now we know why! Brian’s Red Special was previously made by Guild, Burns, and BM Guitars, but now it will be made by Gibson. (I don’t understand why the traditional Gibson would produce the Red Special, which is not their own design model.) More details about Tony’s SG will be announced soon, but…….the three legendary guitarists were all in the same boat!
