Bootleg label Empress Valley is now bootlegging LedZepNews

Osaka Daze

Japanese bootleg label Empress Valley has turned to LedZepNews to create its latest Led Zeppelin release, republishing 142 photographs first revealed by LedZepNews in August in a book sold as part of its new release Osaka Daze.

Emails and auction listings from bootleg distributors show that Empress Valley has created a book containing 142 images of Led Zeppelin performing in Tokyo in 1972 downloaded from the LedZepNews Flickr account after we published scans of slides owned by Led Zeppelin collector Charley Cioffero in August.

We’ve even spotted that the bootleg company has borrowed text from our August article, taking the majority of the first sentence of the article and printing it on the cover of the Osaka Daze album and book.

The Osaka Daze bootleg release doesn’t seem to contain any newly unearthed audio. Its audio is derived from two performances in Osaka, not the Tokyo shows seen in the photos.

One US bootleg distributor is selling the new bootleg package for $229, LedZepNews has learned. All 142 photographs remain freely available for fans to view through the LedZepNews Flickr account, saving everyone $229. We’ve also embedded the two albums again below.
