The delayed Blu-ray release of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” in the US and the UK is finally moving ahead, with the film getting a physical release in those countries on April 14.

Sony Pictures announced on March 5 that a “collector’s edition boxset” containing the film on a 4K UHD disc as well as a Blu-ray disc is now available to preorder.

The box set contains the discs with the film inside a steelbook case, four exclusive photo card prints, two limited-edition guitar picks, an iron-on jacket patch, a vinyl guitar case sticker and a letter to fans from the film’s director Bernard MacMahon.

“Through painstaking archival discovery, precise story construction, and state-of-the-art sound and picture restoration, the film does not mythologize its characters so much as humanize them, allowing audiences to connect not just with the music, but with the people who made it,” the March 5 press release read.

The physical release of the film won’t include footage of Led Zeppelin performing “Dazed and Confused” in Amsterdam on October 5, 1969 that was previously announced in August as being part of the film’s bonus features.

LedZepNews understands that a rights issue meant that the Amsterdam 1969 footage couldn’t be included on the physical release, meaning a December Dutch television broadcast of part of the unrestored footage remains the most complete version of the footage available.

MacMahon said in a statement: “We are relieved the Blu-ray is finally being made available in North America and the UK and delighted to share it in 4K with the wonderful audiences that went to the cinema often multiple times to watch this film. Thank you.”

“Becoming Led Zeppelin” was originally advertised as being released on Blu-ray on September 30 in the US, but delays caused pre-order links to be removed until now.

The film has already been made available in physical versions in Australia and Italy. A Japanese release will take place on March 25.

The physical release of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” will come more than a year after the film debuted in cinemas in February 2025. The film’s release led to a 16% increase in streams of Led Zeppelin’s music during 2025, according to Luminate data.

Luminate’s 2025 Year-End Music Report showed that “Becoming Led Zeppelin” was the most-watched music documentary in 2025, with 550.6 million minutes watched during the year.

According to Luminate, the film caused Led Zeppelin’s streams to rise to a baseline average of 38 million streams per week during 2025, a 16% rise over the previous year.

There has also been awards interest in the film, with “Becoming Led Zeppelin” jointly winning the award for best music documentary at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards in November. The film was also longlisted for the BAFTA film awards and has been nominated for the documentary screenplay category in the 2026 Writers Guild Awards.

  1. If I want the 4K version, why do I need to buy the Bluray and all the other crap?
    Shameful money grab.
Get the Page Next Year project out and stop ripping the people who supported you for over 50 years.
    (yes, im angry)

  2. No added footage, Led zeppelin camp has done little for their shrinking and aging fanbase.

  3. If it was Knebworth footage till the death, it would be worth buying!? Duh. When the reaper ended the band as it did the Beatles before bringing next British invasions Supergroup Duran Duran. That would be worth buying!

So, when it says “Collectors Edition Box Set”, does that mean there will eventually be a separate regular Blu-ray release for those of us who *do* collect all of Led Zeppelin’s music?

  5. Still no sign of any pre order info on amazon.co.uk..

  6. When it’s Led Zeppelin I want it, no matter what 🥰
