John Paul Jones recorded a song with Norwegian jazz trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær for his new album Be Quiet, which was released on July 10.

The song, “Finsbury Park”, features Jones on piano.

The album is available on streaming services and to purchase on vinyl and CD.

Jones previously played alongside Molvær in live shows by the electronic jazz band Spin Marvel in 2011.

The song’s credits reveal that the track’s mastering engineer was Helge Sten, also known as Deathprod, who Jones previously formed the group Minibus Pimps with.

Here’s the description for the album on Molvær’s website:

Across landscapes of electronica, ambient textures and jazz improvisation, Be Quiet unfolds as an intimate, spatial set of recordings – built on proximity and contrast, where different cultures, disciplines and sonic identities meeting Molvær’s unmistakable trumpet voice.
