The expanded and remastered version of Live At The Greek, the 2000 live album Jimmy Page recorded with The Black Crowes, will be released on March 14.
The Black Crowes announced on February 12 that the long-awaited box set will see the original album expanded to 36 songs, up from the 20 songs originally released. The remaster was carried out by Kevin Shirley.
The 16 added tracks include the 10-minute song “Jam”, a previously unreleased original song written by Page and Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson “while jamming during a soundcheck”, according to the Black Crowes website.
The 15 other added tracks include live performances of Black Crowes songs and four songs recorded during soundchecks on tour.
The original Live At The Greek album featured songs recorded during a pair of shows that took place on October 18 and October 19, 1999 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

This box set also includes songs recorded during shows at Jones Beach. The website announcement claims these songs were recorded in August 1999, but it’s likely they actually date from the July 10, 2000 performance at the venue.
The album will be released as a six LP box set, as a three CD set and as a two LP, 15-track “best of” version limited to 1,000 copies that will only be sold through the Black Crowes website.
It’s unclear whether any video material will also be released as part of the box set. In October, The Black Crowes issued a public plea for footage of the July 10, 2000 Jones Beach performance. The February 12 website announcement says the box set contains “exclusive behind-the-scenes photos, video, and much more”.

Writing on Instagram, Shirley said: “I may have been a bit involved in this for a few years – I tracked down the lost master tapes (which came from all over)…. thanks @caribauxdenis for locating the first bunch of tapes in Paris, and thanks to Rick Gould and Steve Correa who helped me track down the rest in LA.”
“I’m really looking forward to the soon to be available release of Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes material from concerts in 1999,” Jimmy Page said in a statement. “The new mixes capture the collaboration of those historic encounters and provide the full explosive passion and exciting energy of those alchemical moments.”
