Jimmy Page gave a speech lasting more than 10 minutes on September 19 at an event honouring him held at the British ambassador’s residence in Washington, D.C.

LedZepNews has tracked down a video of most of Page’s speech from the event that was filmed by journalist Steve Clemons and posted on LinkedIn:

During the speech, Page recalls his time as a session musician recording “Goldfinger” with Shirley Bassey, working in The Yardbirds and forming Led Zeppelin.

The event was co-hosted by Karen Pierce, the British ambassador to the US, and featured some of the top lawmakers in the US government.

Page was presented with a certificate from the Library of Congress regarding “Stairway To Heaven”. The song was inducted into the National Recording Registry in 2023.

Following the September 19 event, Page travelled to New York where he attended an awards dinner on September 22 hosted by the Academy of Achievement along with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Billie Jean King, Katie Ledecky and Mavis Staples.

Page presented an award to John W. Henry, the businessman and owner of the Boston Red Sox.
