Upgraded footage of Led Zeppelin performing in Charlotte in 1970 was posted online

Upgraded footage of Led Zeppelin performing in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 7, 1970 was published online by LedZepFilm on September 24.

The footage is a new transfer of a video shot by Hunter Desportes which improves the quality.

“Unfortunately the film stock – AGFA CK17 – wasn’t well adapted to dark settings and the footage has seen its fair share of damage in the last 50 years. Without any circulating audio from this show, I’ve roughly synced it to the show a few days later in Tampa,” LedZepFilm wrote in the video description on YouTube.

A previous transfer of the film from the original reel in October 2009 was published on Led Zeppelin’s official YouTube channel on November 30, 2011.

As well as filming the concert, 16-year-old Desportes also took photographs of the show which he has uploaded to Flickr.

  1. I wish I could relive the 70s again.I am in my late 60s and still listening to the GREATEST BAND of ALL TIMES. LED ZEPPLIN !!!!!.Live long and prosper.

  2. Was that at the chrome dome coliseum,or park center?

  3. I’m a big fan of Jimmy and John and not so much Robert Plant. I recognize his talent, but in my universe he isn’t a rock God just in my top 15 or 20 rock singers. Jimmy is in my top 10 guitar God’s and John is my #2 rock drummer of all time! Behind only Neil Pert of Rush.I became a fan when album #4 dropped. It had a edgier sound, more rock less bluesy which is why none of their first 3 really caught my ear. With their harder sound I really liked#4,Presence,coda,and In thru the out door. The rest only had a song or 2 on each that I liked. And I wasn’t a fan of song remains the same at all. I in fact got to go see them in Louisiana when they were recording it with 2 friends and their dads chaperoning. It was a disastrous abomination! This was one of their shows where they showed their artistic freedom by not playing but 2 songs I could recognize! On top of that John fell off his drumkit 3 times before they had got to the second song! Jimmy was so wasted I’m sure he thought he was hitting every cord. But none of them were. Between a scrappy show and all of the debauchery in the stadium we left by the 4th song. I had saved for a whole summer to see that concert and pay my way on that weekend. I was so upset I didn’t even want a t-shirt. I really didn’t care much for them after that!
