Jimmy Page has broken his silence about the release of “Becoming Led Zeppelin”, writing in a social media post on February 17 that the response to the film from fans has been “humbling and inspiring”.
“In light of your incredible responses and the demand for the Becoming Led Zeppelin film from those of you that have either viewed it at the IMAX or during its general cinema release, I must say that feedback from fans is just humbling and inspiring,” he wrote on Facebook and Instagram.
“Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm — and here’s the trailer for those of you who haven’t seen it yet,” he added.
Page’s social media post is the first reaction by Led Zeppelin to the film’s release after the band chose not to attend the film’s Hollywood or London premieres. The latest box office data show the film has so far grossed $6.3 million.
The social media post is the first new comment about the film by Page since May 2024 when the film’s distribution deal with Sony Pictures Classics was announced.
inspiring how about a career anthology film like the one the beatles did mr page im sure it would gross a lot more money than becoming of led zeppelin and be a lot more interesting
Why come into a Led Zeppelin story and post an idiotic comment like this. They are two completely different nands with their own fanbases. Both are legendary. If don’t like Led Zeppelin, then listen to your Beatles albums and keep your comments to yourself.
Agree 100% if you don’t like it don’t watch and keep your mouth shut
OMG THE SOUND……
It puts you “in the room” with Led Zeppelin.
Agree! So so amazing – takes your breath away!
Loved it & thank you all for giving us a glimpse into your genius & legacy-
Fan forever ❤️
The theatre I saw it in had terrible sound. It seemed to be in mono and it was not loud enough. I saw Zeppelin in Canada on their first tour and I was anticipating the opening strains of Good Times and it just didn’t sound GREAT in Florida. Loved otherwise. Thank you James.
The Beatles couldn’t open for Led Zeppelin. Stop.
The film was really about how their musicianship and sound developed not how Peter Grant changed the music business and made the four musicians multimillionaires.
Bull I bet you $100 beatles movie would be so boring . With their idyliac and rhyming children songs, snore.
Omg how wonderful this film is! My very FIRST concert was Led Zeppelin in Rochester, New York of 1971, at The War Memorial Stadium! I was only 15 years old & it was one of the most exciting times in my life! I can still remember so much of the concert. They sounded incredible! Thank You for giving us your classic sound! A long time Led Zeppelin Fan! 😄
Been waiting for this my whole life when they first came out it was like I found music. They are the greatest band of all time. I love those guys please can you make the movie more available everywhere I’ll go three times. I seen the first one five times please bring it to my area in California
I thought the documentary was fabulous , the IMAX theater was perfect. The music blew me away.
Yes I have not seen the film personally. But going by the public reviews it seems the wait! after remixing and re editing it was well worth the delay to give the fans value for their Money
Well Done! to Jimmy Page OBE a true!
Rock Guitarist and Songwriter and producer and by all accounts a lovely Human Being to Boot!
Excellent movie. Lots of details I didn’t know.
I’d like to mention a true and horrible Led Zep management incident. At a show in Oakland Ca in 1977 or 78, a violent action was taken by LedZep security and Peter Grant against one of Bill Graham Presents/ FM Productions crew members durring the Saturday “Day on the Green” show. Jim Downy was putting up wooden engraved custom signs in the artist compound with the names of the bands playing that day identifying their “dressing rooms”. This kid comes up to Jim and says he wants the Led Zep sign. Jim simply said fine but you will need to wait until the event is over and went about his business. Turns out the kid is Peter Grants son, and runs and tells daddy how this mean man wouldn’t give him the sign and swore and yelled at him! I worked with Jim at FM Productions at the time in their shop. In no way wouldJim ever behave in that manner to anyone especially a kid! Well Peter Grant, the bands manager, witheld the band from playing until he and his security guys could talk with Jim about the matter. Bill Graham knew Jim and new Peter and his security thugs. Bill said no way. Peter said the band wont play until they talk with Jim. I was in the crowd that day and wondered what the hold up was as was most of the others in the crowd. Bill gave in and said he and his security guys would be there with Led Zeps guys and Peter. They put Jim in a trailer backstage and the unthinkable happened. Led Zeps guys and Peter Grant beat out Bill and his security guys from entering the trailer, and they locked the door and proceeded to beat Jim more than half to death. They left the trailer with Jim in it and said the band would now play. Thats the kind of people LedZep had surrounding them and their manager. The incident was going to end the tour but for a very unfortunate event that happened to Robert or Jimmy. A son of one of them died shortly after the incident and the tour ended anyway, without the incident making into a full blown national story. The Bay Area Press did report on the story and so did local radio stations. Personally I was devastated. My favorite all time band allowed for this to happen. They knew as it was going down but to my knowledge were not at the trailer. And a coworker and friend got beat to shit over a sign and some lieing piece of shit kid gone cring to daddy. Granted, this was almost 50 years ago and my memory is still intact. I mean how Led Zep couldn’t be knowing what went down that Saturday. And FYI, LedZep played like total shit that day with Jimmy kicking his malfunctioning gear at times. The worst show and day I ever attrnded or worked in my life. Im still a stagehand and continue to work in the live festival event and rock show world.
Interesting to get a firsthand account other than Zeppelin’s take… Thanks
I was at the first showing of Becoming Led Zeppelin at 10:25 am, I had the cinema to myself, I was blown away. Brought back so many memories, it’s a must see!
I loved Led Zeppelin when I was 13, I loved Led Zeppelin when I was 40… and nothing has changed, now I am 63…. Great show, exceptional musicians…. Rock on guys….much love, Jen
My friend and I went to see the filmit was absolutelyfantastic. Starting with the sessions, then the yardbirds and finally LZ. Mr James Patrick Page was a beautiful genius in every way. We loved it . THANK YOU JAMES XX
I saw Becoming LZ at the imax theater with my daughter. We both enjoyed it immensely. It was a special treat for me! Thank you Mr. Page for everything! 🥰
I think many of the people who love it missed the news about faked content, from putting Zeppelin images on tickets and posters of CCR right down to Bonham audio about the Beatles played as though he’s talking about his band. I’m skipping this and that super disappoints me. It’s an injustice to the band who deserves far better.
The title and storyline of ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is just that ,the formation of the band. In this context, how Peter Grant was given a couple of images in the signing up process for the whole documentary is quite disappointing ,it was Jimmy and Peter who actually set up the whole thing to the point that he was a equal fifth member within the group. A chapter should have been dedicated to him instead of all the irrelevant moon, Vietnam, etc clips. Apart from that, it was quite brilliant in it’s storytelling.
I grew up in the 70’s when Zeppelin was in their hey day. Never got to see them perform live because I was too young. I remember being stationed in Okinawa and hearing of John Bonham’s death and Zeppelin would be no more. Hurt as much as hearing about John Lennon’s or Bon Scott’s deaths. 1980 wasn’t a great year for hard rock fans. I really joyed watching Becoming Led Zeppelin took me back to a much simpler time in my life.
