Robert Plant told a crowd at the Lucca Summer Festival in Lucca, Italy on July 13 that Saving Grace’s debut album will be released in 6 weeks.
Plant’s on-stage comments were first reported by Rolling Stone Italy and confirmed by LedZepNews reader Michael Clark.
“The announcement of their first studio album, due out in a month and a half, confirms the band’s full maturity, with multi-instrumentalist Matt Worley as the true driving force behind their music,” Rolling Stony Italy reported, according to a Google Translate copy of the article.
“Robert said to the audience ‘we will be releasing an album in 6 weeks time'”, Clark wrote in a comment on this site.
Earlier this year, Plant reportedly confirmed two of the songs that will be released on Saving Grace’s debut album.
According to a review of Plant’s May 6 performance in Amsterdam published by OOR, Plant said on stage during the performance that the band’s cover of “Everybody’s Song” by Low will be on the album that “will definitely be released this century”.
And according to a review of Plant’s May 3 performance in Brussels, Belgium published by KnackFocus, Plant said during that show that the band’s cover of the Moby Grape song “It’s a Beautiful Day Today” would be included on the album.
Plant has been performing with Saving Grace since January 25, 2019, but the group has never released an album. The only recorded music the band has released was the song “As I Roved Out” that was sent to people who bought tickets for the band’s 2023 UK tour.
Earlier this year, the homepage of Plant’s website was updated to feature the band’s bison logo and the text “Hey Grace”, a possible sign that an album will be on the way.
Plant has repeatedly dropped hints that Saving Grace’s debut album is on the way, but so far there has been no official announcement of it.
Sorry Plant. This new stuff you have been putting out is absolutely garbage. Robert Plant solo albums have been a hit or miss.
1. Pictures at 11 – some spectacular songs with the late Cozy Powell had some zeppelin dust ion some the tracks.
2. Principles moment.- staple of the 1980s, a hint of where zeppelin could have gone.
3. Shaken N stirred.- 1 classic song rest hard to listen to.
4. Now & Zen. Robert noticed his record sales weren’t as high so he throwing some zeppelin samples and it’s the first time that he sings any Led Zeppelin songs live the album decent.
Can’t agree with your assessment of Plant’s career.
You’ve conveniently missed out his excellent solo albums like Manic Nirvana, Mighty ReArranger, Fate of Nation and some of the best work he’s done in years, with 2017’s Carry Fire.
Even his albums with Alison Krauss were of exceptional quality.
I suspect you’re one of these fans who are fixated with Plant’s illustrious past in Led Zeppelin and wish for a return to those days
That’s never been Plant’s style and he’s constantly reinventing and developing his style as an artist.
Don’t worry, there’s plenty of life and creativity left in the old golden God yet!
for me his last best album was mighty rearranger those two albums he made with that alison krass i hate band of joy album a no go carry fire was ok cant really see this new album being up to much but i hope im wrong
To be released I imagine on vinyl which is not very green .
I am surprised mostly that Plant lost his energy and swagger in comparison to a cancer survivor like Rod Stewart. Not that I like Rod’s material, but, it’s just shocking to see Plant come across so inanimate lately. Sad.
Y’all done lost your supposed heady minds. Get over yourselves. The dude has released amazing stuff. Consistently. He’s like Bowie, always always doing something, in a studio, recording. You’re dumbasses. Go away, have a nice day.
Sadly, I agree with Robert. Pictures at 11 and Principle of Moments were incredible solo albums, largely due to the unsung hero, Robbie Blunt. Just listen to those classic guitar phrases in Big Log, Burning Down One Side and the Zeppelinesque Slow Dancer. Shaken N Stirred was an absolutely horrible album and that’s when I started tuning out. The pop phase was not my cup of tea but good for him as he once again made it to the top of the charts for a few years. Raising Sand was a lovely album from an aging rock god. Otherwise, I cannot stomach much of his other solo albums.
Give me Robert’s dignified and ‘graceful’ music anytime over his peers: desperately and decrepitly playing the oldies circuit with a fraction of the energy or intent. You folks never hear Robert’s song Tin Pan Alley?
I absolutely love Saving Grace. Seen them live and will again.
Saving grace are amazing also seen them live Robert plant and Suzie Diane olly Jefferson and the guys are remarkable together plants done some amazing work with different varieties just enjoy
He’s just done a cover song with Paul Weller where he sounded like Ray Davies – everyone’s song is a very interesting track with middle eastern influences – to get to his age and be producing new music and working differently is to be applauded
Hats off to Robert Plant.
Top dog artist from the start to where he is now.
His diversity is what keeps us true fans interested.
Keep going Robert absolutely brilliant.
I do not like Saving Grace. Robert Plant is an icon but this is so boring. Sorry babe.
