A film soundtrack written by John Paul Jones is likely to remain unreleased after the film was cancelled, LedZepNews has learned.

In 2022, LedZepNews revealed that Jones had created original songs with his band Snoweye for the soundtrack of independent film “And Anne” which had been in production since 2019.

However, a source with direct knowledge of the film’s status has now told LedZepNews that there are no plans to release “And Anne”.

“Film is cancelled,” was the source’s blunt description after LedZepNews asked about the status of “And Anne”.

There have been no signs of progress on the film since our 2022 article was published. Director Tim Kaza previously listed the film on his LinkedIn profile, including this summary of the film’s plot: “Anne is the loneliest wedding photographer on the planet. So she sets out on an epic journey to find her one true friend; the man in the moon himself.”

The description and all mentions of the film have been removed from Kaza’s LinkedIn profile.

Elías Helgi Kofoed-Hansen, the film’s writer, discussed working with Jones in an interview with Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið that was published in January 2022, days after LedZepNews posted our story about the soundtrack.

“I just couldn’t believe it was him. The first thing I thought when I saw the name was how unfortunate it would be for a musician to be called John Paul Jones! No, no, no! Then I just realised it was him,” Kofoed-Hansen said in the interview, according to a translation from the original Icelandic text.

Fréttablaðið reported in its 2022 article that Jones “is going to compose the music for the film”, leaving it unclear whether Jones’ soundtrack was written, recorded or finished.

Jones formed Snoweye in 2017 with musicians Elle Márjá Eira and Lucy Parnell. The performed together a handful of times but has its own website and company incorporated in the UK.

Jones formed Snoweye in 2017 when the group performed together at the Ice Station Vadsø festival in Norway on June 22, 23, and 24.

Snoweye’s only other performance was at Varangerfestivalen in Norway on August 11, 2018.
