“Becoming Led Zeppelin” has been longlisted for the documentary category in the BAFTA Film Awards, it was announced on January 9.
61 eligible documentary films were submitted for the documentary category, with “Becoming Led Zeppelin” announced as one of the 10 films longlisted for the category.
The longlist will now be reduced to five documentary films nominated in the category. The nominations will be announced on January 27. The winner will be announced at the BAFTA Film Awards on February 22.
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” was not longlisted for the outstanding British film category, despite Screen Daily reporting in December that it could be a contender for that award.
On January 8, the Academy Awards also announced that “Becoming Led Zeppelin” is one of the 201 feature films that are eligibile to win the best picture award.
Last month, “Becoming Led Zeppelin” didn’t reach the shortlists for best documentary feature film or best sound in the Oscars.
Sony Pictures Classics had publicly promoted the film in both awards categories. It has also been promoting the film in the best film editing category, which the film could still be nominated for as nominations for that award will be announced later this year.
