LedZepNews has published 31 previously unseen photographs of Led Zeppelin performing at Knebworth Festival in the UK on August 4 and August 11, 1979.
The photographs were purchased on eBay by LedZepFilm who kindly allowed us to publish high resolution scans of them. The identify of the photographer behind the images is unknown.
The first 30 images in the album show Led Zeppelin performing at the festival on August 4, 1979. The last photograph shows the band’s second performance at the festival on August 11, 1979.

I was there for the first of the two weekends, an amazing way to spend my eighteenth birthday! To this day, and having been to many fantastic gigs since, Knebworth remains the highlight of my musical attendances, the entire experience left me with the sort of memories that just can’t be forgotten, a genuine privilege to have been there!
It’s funny how much praise, these two concerts are getting; when in fact Robert Plant said the shows were decent at best, Tight-but-loose even mentioned that it was dead quiet and Plant had to rouse the crowd to attention.
Led Zeppelin by 1979 were becoming what John Bonham feared “when people went to see the Beatles, they weren’t listening to the music they were most interested in what they were wearing.” 1971 UK.
this was the period when they really needed to do a uk tour maybe about 12 gigs then crowned it of with one or two knebworth shows the last uk tour ended in january 1973 when it came to a uk tour there was no rush to do it look at the plan of action for 1980
the band still had a lot more to prove if john didn.t pass away
