Robert Plant joined violinist Nigel Kennedy on stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday and performed two songs: “Hey Joe” and “Kashmir.”

Plant joined Kennedy on stage after 11pm in London, and they launched into an extended cover of “Hey Joe.” Justin Adams and John Baggott, two members of Plant’s band The Sensational Space Shifters, joined them on stage for the song.

The second song played by Plant on Tuesday night was an extended cover of “Kashmir,” complete with a string section, guitar, drums, and Kennedy on violin. Plant introduced the song by mentioning that he worked with Kennedy in 1992 to record his “Fate of Nations” solo album.

Tight But Loose editor Dave Lewis reported on Facebook that it was the first time that Plant has performed “Kashmir” since Led Zeppelin’s 2007 reunion performance, and it was also the first time he has performed it in full without Jimmy Page.
