Led Zeppelin isn’t saying how many copies of its limited edition Record Store Day single are being released on April 21.

The band is releasing a 7″ vinyl single which will feature two previously unheard mixes produced by Jimmy Page: The Sunset Sound Mix of “Rock And Roll” on the A-side and the Olympic Studios Mix of “Friends” on the B-side.

But Led Zeppelin’s record label Warner Music, its imprint Rhino Records, and Record Store Day all failed to respond when we asked how many copies of the single are being printed.

The only information we have about the number of copies is from Led Zeppelin’s website, which says that the release is a “limited edition.” No information about the quantity of the release is listed on the Record Store Day website.

It’s relatively unusual for Record Store Day releases not to disclose how many copies are being printed. In this list of all upcoming Record Store Day releases, only 15 of the hundreds of exclusive releases decline to give a quantity.

Knowing how many copies of the single are being pressed is important to collectors as it helps indicate how rare and valuable the single is. If only 1,000 are being made, then it’s a rare item. But if Led Zeppelin is releasing 20,000 copies, then it’s going to be pretty easy to obtain.
