A previously unheard recording of Led Zeppelin’s July 5, 1969 performance at the Atlanta International Pop Festival has emerged online.
The five-track first generation audience recording of the start of the show is the first audio recording of the performance to emerge.
It’s also the first previously unheard 1969 Led Zeppelin show to emerge since a recording of the December 6, 1969 Châtenay-Malabry show emerged in March 2013.
The Atlanta Pop recording is the first show from Led Zeppelin’s 1969 US tour to emerge since a tape of the August 8, 1969 San Bernardino show emerged around 1994.
“This is from a first gen reel, the masters are presumed lost,” the description of newly emerged tape reads. “The rest of the show was taped, but was accidentally erased.”
The recording emerged via several members of the Dogs of Doom Led Zeppelin Discord server. That’s the same group that recently published previously unseen photographs of Led Zeppelin’s June 22, 1977 Los Angeles performance.
The full newly emerged Atlanta Pop 1969 has been uploaded to YouTube here:
And LedZepFilm has combined the newly emerged tape with “Pat’s Delight” from the band’s June 20, 1969 Newcastle for this sync to 8mm footage from the festival:

Lighten up off the door a little Jimmy, your out of tune dude, lol. I seen Zep, April 25, 1977, Freedom Hall, Louisville, Ky.
I’m 71 years young now. I saw LZ Live at least 8 times. Each time they were better than the last time I saw them. I’m totally a LZ Fan!
There is not a day that goes by that I don’t play a track from a Led Zeppelin album. Yes, how do you say classic rock…Led Zepplin. Saw them in 73 during the houses of the Holy tour. That and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon tour with the 360 degrees of sound were two of the greatest concerts that I ever saw and I have seen plenty of rock concerts.
Raw talent great musicians great music! Saw them in 1977, still hardest working band ever!!!
