IMAX is attempting to hide the February 7 release date of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” after LedZepNews discovered the date the film will seemingly hit IMAX screens in the US and Canada.
The entertainment business has made a series of edits to a web page that leaked the information, deleting references to the film and replacing it with text that reads “Not a Film”, “filler”, “unknown” and “none”.
After LedZepNews discovered a listing for the film on a website used by an IMAX cinema in Indiana, the company has now edited the page to delete information identifying the page as being about “Becoming Led Zeppelin” in an attempt to stop further leaks.
The film’s title on the page previously read “Becoming Led Zeppelin: The IMAX Experience”. It now reads “Filler”. The page previously indicated this was an IMAX screening with the film’s PG-13 certificate. It now reads “Not a Film”. The film’s genre previously read “Documentary” but now reads “Unknown”. The description has been changed to simply read “None”.
One piece of identifying information does remain on the page, however. It still lists the 121-minute runtime for “Becoming Led Zeppelin”.
The attempt to hide the release date comes after Sony Pictures Classics, the film’s U.S. distributor, used a copyright claim last week to take down a fan-filmed copy of the film’s new trailer that had emerged online on November 2. LedZepNews’ full analysis of the new trailer remains online here.
