Jimmy Page’s career and history of charity work was honoured at a high-profile dinner and celebration held at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, D.C. on September 19.
The event was co-hosted by Karen Pierce, the British ambassador to the US, and featured some of the top lawmakers in the US government.
Grace Potter performed a cover of “Whole Lotta Love” for the guests in attendance, which included Page’s girlfriend Scarlett Sabet.
Page was photographed speaking to Alex Karp, the CEO of defence technology business Palantir.
Hosted by Pierce, former Second Permanent Secretary at the Treasury in the UK Charles Roxburgh and married philanthropists Catherine and Wayne Reynolds, the event’s attendees included:
- Attorney General Merrick Garland
- Chief Justice John Roberts
- Justice Brett Kavanaugh
- Senator Peter Welch
- Congressman Michael Turner
- Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell
- Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma
- Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer
- Former senator Bill Frist
- Italian ambassador Mariangela Zappia
- Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti
- Senior Advisor to the President Mike Donilon
- Former Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Brian Hook
- Palantir Technologies CEO Alex Karp
- Former Social Secretary to the British Ambassador Francesca Craig
- Former Chief of Staff at the Department of Commerce Wendy Anderson
- New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd
That list is according to the September 20 issue of Politico’s Playbook PM email, the US Department of State’s public schedule for that day and social media posts from some attendees.
The event appears to have been organised in part by married philanthropists Catherine and Wayne Reynolds who both run the Academy of Achievement nonprofit organisation that was founded by Catherine’s father.
Page has been associated with the philanthropists for years, appearing regularly at their events since 2017. He may know them through the Kennedy Center, which bestowed the Kennedy Center Honors on Page along with his Led Zeppelin bandmates Robert Plant and John Paul Jones in 2012. Catherine Reynolds donated $100 million to the Kennedy Center in 2002.
