The premiere of ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ will take place on January 27

The premiere of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” will be held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California on January 27.

Invitations to the premiere event have been sent out and one attendee shared a screenshot of their invitation online, confirming a rumour that a Hollywood premiere of the film will take place before the end of January.

The upcoming Hollywood premiere of the film follows a series of recent private screenings of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” that have been held in the US, including one that was attended by the members of Lez Zeppelin.

It’s not yet known whether any of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin plan to attend the premiere. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones provided supportive comments when the authorised documentary was announced in 2019, but all three men have since scaled back their public support of the project.

Only Page attended the film’s festival premiere in Venice in 2021 and Led Zeppelin’s website, social media channels and the official individual social media pages for the surviving band members have been silent about the film’s upcoming release on February 5.

Page, Plant and Jones all attended the New York and London premieres of their concert film “Celebration Day” in October 2012. However, that film was a directly owned and controlled Led Zeppelin project, while “Becoming Led Zeppelin” was created by an independent filmmaking business, albeit with Led Zeppelin’s participation.

Here’s the invitation sent to guests attending the January 27 premiere:

It’s only been 49 years since we stood in line to see The Song Remains The Same, concert movie 1976. Little did we know we were to get Super Deluxe releases of each album. And Jimmy’s four LP Soundtracks. Saw the Firm 1985 & Outrider 1988 Tours as well as Plant’s DreamLand 2002 Tour and Jeff Beck’s 2010 Tour. Happy to be able to say I’ve seen some talented shows. “We got four already and you know We’re Steady”….
