‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ increased streams of the band’s music by 23%

The release of “Becoming Led Zeppelin” caused a 23% increase in streams of Led Zeppelin’s music, newly released data shows.

Entertainment industry data provider Luminate’s newly released 2025 Midyear Music Report shows that the film’s release drove Led Zeppelin’s streaming numbers to their highest-ever weekly peak of 40.4 million streams for the week ending February 27.

“Led Zeppelin’s streams have also sustained a new baseline average of 39M per week through 7/03/25, which is +23% over the previous period,” Luminate’s report continued.

Streams of Led Zeppelin’s music began rising following the release of a trailer for “Becoming Led Zeppelin” in November, Luminate data shows.

Sweden saw the largest rise in streams of Led Zeppelin of 19% during the three-week period from February 7 to February 27 compared to January 17 to February 6. The UK saw streams rise 15.3% and Poland saw streams rise 14.9% during that period.

“Becoming Led Zeppelin” was the most-watched music documentary released so far in 2025 and the ninth most-watched documentary overall with 329.8 million minutes watched, Luminate found.

Led Zeppelin’s streaming uplift came despite the band’s decision not to promote “Becoming Led Zeppelin” through interviews or online posts about the film’s release. The band has remained silent on social media since September 2023.

However, LedZepNews reported in February that the band quietly began promoting “Whole Lotta Love” on February 19 by using Facebook and Instagram adverts to encourage people to stream the song. These adverts coincided with the highest-ever weekly peak of streams of Led Zeppelin’s music identified by Luminate.
