Led Zeppelin’s new ‘Trampled Underfoot’ single is limited to 6,100 copies

Led Zeppelin Trampled Underfoot

Led Zeppelin’s new Record Store Day re-release of the 1975 promotional 7″ single of “Trampled Underfoot” will be limited to 6,100 copies, it has been announced.

Led Zeppelin announced the single’s release a third time today, confirming the single will be made available to purchase through record stores on November 28. Further information about the upcoming single was posted on the Record Store Day US and UK websites.

The US site states that 6,100 copies of the release will be produced and confirms that the single’s original B-side of “Black Country Woman” will be included.

Record Store Day’s UK site explains that “both tracks use the Physical Graffiti 2015 remastered album audio, which was produced by Jimmy Page for the original album reissue 10 years ago. Lacquers were cut at Metropolis Studios in London.”

Led Zeppelin originally announced the single re-release on September 22 but deleted all traces of the announcement less than four hours later.

It seems the band accidentally announced the news more than a week too early, as Black Friday Record Store Day releases are typically announced on October 2.

Earlier on October 2, Led Zeppelin announced the re-release a second time on Instagram but deleted the post within an hour. Eventually, the band announced the re-release a third time and has so far kept the announcement online.

  1. The first time i ever sensed the concept of a cash grab in the Zep world. Hard pass from me.

  2. 6000+Served= World hunger

  3. Saw them in 1977 at M.S.G, Fantastic music and a killer light show. One of the best concerts I ever seen. And I been to over 100 different concerts.

  4. I was introduced to zeppelin in 1976 and have been a zep head ever since. No band can match the feelings I get listening to led zeppelin

  5. Cash grab ? Everything Page has released since JBs has been a cash grab. Doesn’t that p.o.s money grubbing chump have enough cash ?

    • It’s more like going to the merch table and buying stuff to prop up the band. No one is forcing you to buy. The remastering was a legitimate process to upgrade the material. Using pos term is too harsh.

So when is the single coming out and is it something obtainable something I can hold in my hand rather than just on media?

    • Yes. That’s the idea of Record Store Day. Bands release limited edition VINYL , mostly , if not all, 45’s and released to “mom and pop” owned record stores No corporate stores, big box stores. The trick is, for most people, finding an actual MnP record store.

They could do so much better. The tapes are out there. Give us something fresh instead of the same old repackaged stuff. Disappointed.

  11. I have two UK copies of this single which were given to me in June 1975. There is no serial/catalogue number on the label. As far as I know, it wasn’t released to the general public in the UK at that time so my copies are probably promotional discs. Both on the Swansong label.

I saw then 77 in Saint Louis, Mo, Great show the laser show was awesome !

  13. i dont think these tackie reissues are anything to do with page its more to do with the record company after all when it comes to a achive release from the vaults page jones plant cant agree on anything

  14. An absolute pointless release. Not even sure young fans would be interested in it. I have the original so I don’t need it. Maybe this is what JP meant by ‘all sorts of surprises being released in the future’. If so, I would say the only true surprises will be on future bootlegs.

  15. All seriousness aside, this disc will survive an EMP attack for all of you who have your collections on stored media. If and when the power comes back on, imagine you’re the only one in your neighborhood that has the ability to play Zep on your DVD player.😂🎶1️⃣▶️
