One of the four banners that hung outside London’s Earl’s Court to advertise Led Zeppelin’s May 1975 performances at the venue has sold for £1,500 following a December 2 auction, LedZepNews has learned.
The banner was listed in UK auction house Omega Auctions’ December 2 sale but seemed to fail to sell on the day.
LedZepNews reported last week that the item had been deleted from the auction house’s website and contacted the firm.
We’ve since learned that the banner sold after the sale for £1,500, below the £2,000 to £3,000 estimate the auction house gave to it.
The item is now again listed on the Omega Auctions website, showing the sale price.
Sam Rapallo, the administrator of Led Zeppelin’s official forum, posted about the banners in October. “There were 4 of them, 3 of them are still known to exist and may be coming up for sale,” he wrote.
