A 1917 Phelon and Moore 500cc motorbike which Robert Plant was photographed on at his Jennings Farm property in Worcestershire will be sold at auction later this month.
The vintage motorbike, which Plant was famously photographed on in 1970 along with his dog Strider, has been rediscovered and will be offered for sale by Laidlaw Auctioneers and Valuers in Carlisle on August 29.
The vintage Royal Flying Corps motorbike includes documents such as its logbook which confirm that the motorbike is the same vehicle Plant was photographed with.
The motorbike has been given an estimate of between £15,000 and £25,000 by the auction firm.
Plant did not own the bike at the time he was photographed with it. Copies of the motorbike’s papers previously published online by dealer Andy Tiernan who bought the bike in 2005 show that it was owned by Frederick Wright of Stourport-on-Severn from July 11, 1961 until it was bought by a resident of Birmingham on May 13, 1971.
Plant brought the Jennings Farm property in 1969 and it became a retreat for him during the 1970s. The original title for “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp” was “Jennings Farm Blues”.
