A collection of rare Led Zeppelin tapes made by Mike Millard have appeared for sale on eBay, offering a rare chance to own recordings created by one of the most legendary concert tapers.
eBay seller luckyforamnesia has listed for sale five first generation tape recordings made by Millard.
“These were copied by Mike Millard himself and are genuine 1st generation copies,” the descriptions of the tapes reads. “A family member who has since passed away, obtained these in the 1990’s from a collector who had obtained these directly from Mike. These have been in a climate-controlled storage unit up until listing.”
The seller has listed the following recordings:
- March 11 and March 12, 1975 at Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California
- March 24 and March 25, 1975 at The Forum in Inglewood, California
- June 19 and June 21, 1977 at the San Diego Sports Arena and at The Forum in Inglewood, California
- June 23 and June 25, 1977 at The Forum in Inglewood, California
- June 27, 1977 at The Forum in Inglewood, California
They have also listed for sale tapes containing recordings made by Millard of Jimmy Page performing on October 7, 1988 at The Forum in Inglewood, California and of Robert Plant performing on August 9 and August 10, 1990 at the San Diego Sports Arena and the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
Millard’s audience recordings have often been credited for their fidelity, leading to Pink Floyd officially releasing his recording of the band’s April 26, 1975 performance at the Los Angeles Sports Arena last year.

Ah, Inglewood source of Blueberry Hill. First Boot I ever got, £3.50 back in the early 70s There has been a semi official re-issue but it doesn’t have the sheer excitement nd guts of my original, now long gone along with the 30 other Zep Boots I collected. The best was Mudslide pressed in marbled green vinyl. One made in Japan as recorded slow but had Mr Bonham missing at the start so they did some acoustice numbers until he turned up. If it hadn’t been slow it would have been one of the best!
I think Sonny Boy Williamson would have a bigger claim for ‘Bring it On Home’ and the ‘Lemon Song’ was stolen too. I grew up with and was mesmerised by Zep but couldn’t they have been more like Clapton, Presenting a cheque Skip James.
