Andie Airfix, the veteran graphic designer who worked on many Led Zeppelin projects, has died aged 72.
Airfix designed several CD and DVD covers for Led Zeppelin including “DVD,” “BBC Sessions,” and the “Early Days” and “Latter Days” albums.
He also worked on the Page and Plant “Shining In The Light” single and several Robert Plant solo albums including “Dreamland,” “Nine Lives,” and “Sixty Six To Timbuktu.”
Outside of his work with Led Zeppelin, Airfix is perhaps best-known for designing Def Leppard’s “Hysteria” album cover. He also worked with The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Paul McCartney and AC/DC.
Airfix lived in Brighton with his husband Richard.
Airfix’s death was announced on his Facebook page on October 17.
