Jimmy Page’s guitars aren’t in the ‘Play It Loud’ exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Jimmy Page decided not to include his guitars, stage clothes and musical equipment in the “Play It Loud” exhibition at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, LedZepNews has learned.

The exhibition originally opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in April and included several of Page’s most famous guitars.

The exhibit was the first time that Page’s “Black Beauty” was shown in public since it was returned to his ownership.

The exhibition has since moved to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and opened last month, but there has been speculation that Page’s items didn’t travel with it.

A source who has seen the new exhibit has confirmed to LedZepNews that Page’s items are not present.

That’s backed up by the page for the exhibit on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s website, which doesn’t mention Page at all.

The press release for the opening of the exhibition does mention Page, but only confirms that the special video interview he filmed for the exhibit is still present.

LedZepNews contacted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to ask about Page’s guitars and other items but did not receive a reply.

  1. Does this mean Jimmy has had the call to join the ‘Sensational Space Shifters’ ?
(He’s been ‘warming up on the touch lines’ for 19 years since the Page/Crowes shows, and just one full live show (O2) since then). ?

  2. probably a good idea.

  3. …..Jimmy’s choice whether he does or doesn’t.

Wow that’s a shame. I was fortunate enough to see the exhibition when it was at the Met in NYC earlier this year. I have some pics that I would be willing to share in addition to the pics at this site (hopefully the webmaster won’t delete it):

  5. They should include the hilarious video of Jimmy playing the theremin, as Edge orgasms all over the place and Jack tries to act cool.

  7. I can confirm there are no Page items there. Only JPJ’s SRTS outfit and his piano from the stairway recording. Travelled from Toronto on opening night, very dissapointed.

    • Wow that sucks. Yeah I’d be pissed too. Hopefully we’ll get a comment from the man himself on why that was changed.
