Robert Plant and Alison Krauss were nominated for three awards at the 2023 Grammy Awards for their album “Raise The Roof”.
The pair were nominated for best country duo/group performance for their song “Going Where The Lonely Go”, best American roots song for their song “High And Lonesome” and best Americana album for the entire album.
You can read the full Grammy nominees list on the Recording Academy’s website here.
Plant and Krauss’ previous album, 2007’s Raising Sand, led to the pair being the major winners of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Raising Sand won Plant and Krauss five awards: Record of the year, album of the year, best pop collaboration with vocals, best country collaboration with vocals and best contemporary folk/Americana album.
Plant was asked whether he has Grammy Award hopes for Raise The Roof during an interview with Time published in November 2021.
“What category? Comedy, maybe. I don’t know,” he responded. “We never thought that we’d ever make a record together. The award for me is that I’m sitting in this room with this woman and we can make some great music together with some remarkable people. I know that sounds very contrite, but it’s true.”
Later on in the interview, he added: “But the Grammys? I don’t know about that. I’ll have to buy some new clothes.”
And Plant recalled winning big at the 2009 Grammy Awards during an interview with Variety published in 2021. “I’d never seen a Grammy before!” he said. “I team up with a remarkable young lady, and people just keep throwing them at me. So I thought that was really quite cute. I don’t know why I didn’t stick around a bit longer, actually. I could have had loads now — could’ve been giving them to family members.”
And during an interview with Vanity Fair published in November 2021, Plant also recalled their Grammys sweep: “Bear in mind, I’ve been making records since 1966, and I’d never had a Grammy. At that event, I was thinking, This is not where I’m actually supposed to be. And Alison said, ‘Oh, shut up.’ And every time we went up to the podium, I kept seeing Coldplay start to stand up, and I’d say, ‘Sit down! My turn! Fuck off!'”
So very happy they were nominated! This album deserves it bc their tour was a hit as every song on the record is!!! Good luck!
Congratulations wish the best.
This does not surprise me whatsoever! I saw Robert and Alison on tour in September in Boston. What an incredible show they put on! Kudos to them for the nominations! I’ll be watching them for their wins!

I saw Alison and Robert with Union Station back in 2007 in Cleveland and was feeling very fortunate that they visited my hometown. They were fantastic and well deserving of their Grammy! Here we are again and this time I saw them.in Saratoga Springs New York, again not surprised they are up for another Grammy award! I saw Robert with the Sensational Space Shifters in Chicago in 2018 with Seth Lake, another fantastic show and recently in Scotland at the Queen’s Hall with Suzi Dian and her band, I was loving every minute of it! Robert makes every band shine that he sings with, love this man.
