Robert Plant will tour again with Alison Krauss in 2024, he confirmed in a social media post on July 10.
The pair completed the most recent leg of their world tour at RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa, Ontario yesterday on July 8.
Sharing a photo of himself, Krauss and their band on stage, Plant wrote: “Fantastic, exciting..and already feeling the vacuum as it sets in..farewell my friends..til the next trek in ’24.”
Touring again in 2024 will extend Plant and Krauss’ “Raise the Roof” tour to a third year after they spent 2022 and 2023 touring together.
Plant’s social media comment seemingly confirms an announcement of a US tour for Plant and Krauss in Summer 2024 made by one venue from their recent tour.
The pair were forced to postpone their June 29 show at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia due to air quality issues, and the venue posted the following statement: “Tonight’s sold-out concert with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss at Wolf Trap has been postponed and will be rescheduled for Summer 2024.”
It’s unclear when in 2024 Plant and Krauss will tour, beyond a Summer US tour as announced by Wolf Trap.
Robert Plant’s upcoming schedule
Plant will return to performing with Saving Grace this year when he begins touring Europe with the band in Portorož, Slovenia on August 24. They’ll tour together in September with a bonus show in London on November 4.
Beyond that, Plant indicated last year that he plans to release the second Band Of Joy album and an expanded edition of the Honeydrippers album in 2023, although no further announcements have been made about either project.
The second Band Of Joy album was initially announced as coming soon in July 2020. Plant was asked about the album in a 2021 interview with Mojo Magazine but the magazine reported that he “winces at the notion of reconvening to complete it.”
