Jimmy Page released his original home demo of ‘Ten Years Gone’

Jimmy Page has released his original home demo version of “Ten Years Gone”, allowing fans to hear the original recording for free online.

Page uploaded a video to his official YouTube channel on March 29, writing: “As a footnote to Physical Graffiti, I thought you might like to hear the original home demo, recorded in my studio at Plumpton Place of a piece of music that was going to surface as 10 Years Gone.”

“I presented this rough mix to the band at Headley Grange in order to do this for real,” he continued. “Robert Plant came up with some lyrics for my music that were extraordinary and then we arrive at the song 10 Years Gone.”

A 55-second version of this demo recording was previously released through Page’s website in an On This Day post on February 24, 2012 along with snippets of demos for “The Wanton Song” and “Sick Again”.

“I came up with the title for this album and the source music is a sample of some of my musical sketches – Wanton Song, Ten Years Gone and Sick Again – from that time,” Page wrote in that update.

The “Ten Years Gone” demo is the second home demo Page has released in recent years. On March 28, 2023, Page released “The Seasons”, his original demo of the song that would become “The Rain Song”.

LedZepNews reported in September that a source had indicated to us that further Page home recordings were on the way. At the time, however, no further demo songs had been released following “The Seasons”.
