Jimmy Page’s relaunched website was quietly updated to correct factual errors

Jimmy Page’s website was quietly updated in the last month to fix a series of errors that had been included in the site following its relaunch on August 28.

The site included a series of mistaken Led Zeppelin tour dates, all of which have now been removed.

It had claimed that Led Zeppelin’s July 25, 1969 performance at the Mid-West Rock Festival took place in New York. It now correctly lists the show’s venue as West Allis, Wisconsin.

The team that runs Page’s site also fixed a series of mistakes on the site which had claimed Led Zeppelin shows took place on the wrong date.

For example, Page’s site had claimed that Led Zeppelin performed at the Mayfair Ballroom in Newcastle on March 18, 1970. The site now correctly shows this performance as taking place on March 18, 1971.

Another error on the site showed Led Zeppelin performing at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis on May 17, 1977. It now correctly shows the performance as taking place on April 17, 1977.

In total, 56 corrections were made to the live shows section of Page’s website, according to a LedZepNews comparison of an archived copy of the site from August 28 and the live show list.

Other errors are still present on Page’s site, however. It claims that Led Zeppelin’s debut album was “released 12 January 1969 in the UK and 28 March 1969 in the USA”. However, the album was actually released in January 1969 in the US and in March 1969 in the UK.

Page’s site also describes his October 9, 1999 NetAid performance as taking place in New York rather than the correct venue of New Jersey.

  3. Hello Jimmy,
I’ve been playing bass since the 70’s so any time you’re in the Montreal area, let me know and I’ll set up a jam. No cameras, press and no stupid questions, just rock and roll. We’ll have a blast.
