Robert Plant recorded with guitarists Duane Eddy and James Burton earlier this year, he confirmed in a new interview with The New York Times.

Plant said he recorded with the musicians at Sound Emporium in Nashville, where he also recorded “Raise the Roof,” his second album with Alison Krauss.

It’s unclear when the sessions will emerge – and indeed whether it’s a joint project between Plant, Eddy and Burton or two different projects.

Plant hinted at a recording session with Burton earlier this year when he tweeted a photograph of the guitarist recording on September 14.

“How do these moments just arrive … unbelievable! James Burton in the here and now,” Plant posted online.

Plant and Burton have been friendly for years, with Burton photographed at a Plant show in 2016 where Plant held a charity meet and greet to benefit the James Burton Foundation.
